Romanticism Project

During Language Arts lesson. We are going to do a multi-media project on 19 Century European. My partner is Jasmine and we decide our topic to be on the integration between social and Romanticism. Our research questions for this projects are: “how does literature and social interact to romanticism and what extent does the literature reflect social”

“Romanticism is a style of art, literature and music in the late 18th and early 19th century in Europe. This movement said that feelings, imagination, nature, and old folk traditions such as legends and fairy tales were important. In part, it was a reaction to the aristocratic social and political ideas of the Age of Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution. It was also a reaction against turning nature into a mere science. It showed itself most strongly in arts like music, and literature. However, it also had an important influence on historiography, education and natural history.” From Wikipedia.

What’s more, for the research Jasmine and me would focus on the germination of the idea of Romanticism, and how the social affected it.

Last but not the least, we well post our work when we finish them. Please look forward to us.

The Leman learning profile

I’m Eva Lin, From Leman International school- Chengdu and I’m a grade 10 student. Last week during EAL lesson, my classmate and me were doing some work about Leman Learner profile. It let me understand myself and try to find a way to develop my skills. I develop my natural curiosity. For example, I enjoy learning and like to ask questions that I don’t understand. What’s more, I research and find a way to do things.

I actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout my life. When my classmates need some help. I would help them as soon as possible. For instance, if my friends got a stomachache, I would take them to the nurse room as soon as possible. What’s more, I have a personal commitment to service and act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment. I approach unfamiliar situations are uncertainty with courage and forethought and have the independence of spirit to explore new roles, ideas and strategies.

I am not a courageous girl, because I don’t want to have many challenges and I don’t have much confidence at all. I am not brave or articulate in defending my beliefs. Therefore, I think I need to challenge myself to face problems and solve them. I didn’t explore concepts, idea and issues and global significance. In so doing, I don’t acquire in-depth knowledge and develop understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines.

However, in my mind, I need to develop my writing skills and speaking skills. What’s more, I think people who want to be knowledgeable need to be very hard working. Therefore, I need more time to develop those kinds of skills. In conclusion, I need to be more confident, face the problems I have to solve them. Discover my interests and what I am good at. I also need to show people what I had done and receive recognition.
